PUBLIC SAFETY:

On Behalf Of Council And Myself, I Would Like To Thank All Our Emergency Personnel Volunteers And Their Families For The Sacrifices They Make All Year Long To Protect The Residents Of Bristol Township. I Would Also Like To Thank The Fire Companies For Providing Open House Participation For Fire Prevention Week. We Congratulate You On Your Support And Providing Information And Demonstrations To The Residents Of Bristol Township.

RECREATION:

Bristol Township Will Be Holding The Seventh Annual Halloween/Harvest Festival On Saturday, October 28th from 9:00am To 3:00pm At The Bristol Township Senior Center Here On The Municipal Complex. Come Join The Activities For All Ages Including Moon Bouncers, Face Painting, Caricatures, Music, Dancers, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, Vendors, And Costume Contest For Ages 12 And Under. WAR DOG MEMORIAL:

The War Dog Memorial Was Officially Dedicated In A Very Moving Ceremony On September 16th.   A Video Of The Ceremony Will Be Airing On The Community Access Channel 22.

NEIGHBORHOOD BUS TRAFFIC:

I Have Met With The Chief Of Police And Spoken With The School District Regarding School Buses Speeding On Neighborhood Roads. The District And The Police Department Will Take Swift Action On This Matter. Residents Who Observe Buses Speeding On Our Roads Are Encouraged To Report The Bus Number, Date/Time Of Day To The Police Department Or The School District.

MUNICIPAL BUILDING SIGNAGE:

I Am Formally Requesting That The Council Approve A New Sign For The Municipal Building. The Current Sign Is Old And Dilapidated. I Am Enclosing Specifications For The Sign That Is Anticipated To Cost Approximately $25,000. These Funds Can Be Taken From The Recreation Capital Account. The New Sign Will Not Only Improve The Appearance Of The Municipal Building, But Will Allow Us To Remove The Many Other Signs Out There. The Message Board On The New Sign Will Also Broadcast Valuable Information On Programs And Events To Our Residents.

JOINT PURCHASING PROGRAM:

Township Departments Have Been Taking Advantage Of The State And Federal "Piggy-Back" Purchasing Agreements To Help Keep Our Cost Down. Now, Our Public Safety And Emergency Management Director, Kevin Dippolito, Will Now Be Working With The Fire Companies And Rescue Squads To Bring These Programs To Them.

BEAUTIFICATION OF RT. 13 AND RT. 413 INTERSECTION:

While Much Has Been Done At This Intersection, There Is Still More Work To Be Done. Today The Area Looks A Mess. The Grass Is Unkempt, The Weeds Are High And there Is No Light On The Flagpole. My Staff And I Will work With Penndot To Beautify the Area With Low Maintenance Landscaping, A New Fence And A Light For The Flagpole.

HOME APPLICATION:

Through Our Office Of Community Development, Bristol Township Has Been Successful In Securing A $500,000 First-Time Homebuyer Grant Administered By The Pennsylvania Department Of Community And Economic Development. This Grant Will Allow Us To Assist A Limited Number Of First-Time Homebuyers Enter The Homeownership Market. Our Community Development Office Staff Is In The Process Of Developing Updated Applications And Will Inform The Public And Those On The Waiting List Of The Availability Of Funds And The Timing Of Application Acceptance.
