Mayor Fenton Report I have been meeting with Senator Tomlinson over the past few weeks in an effort to secure additional grants for Bristol Township. We discussed obtaining a grant towards the construction of the Coates Avenue building which would permit the Veterans to occupy the building. Also, the group ARC has expressed an interest in occupying space at the Coates Avenue building and would contribute, by way of rent, to the maintenance of the building. Previous council allocated funds for the completion of this project and I hope that this council will eventually complete this grant project for the community. I also met with Senator Tomlinson to discuss the I-95/PA Turnpike Interchange. As I have discussed in the past, the project proposes to use the former Peter Lumber site for storm water management. This is a prime commercial parcel and part of our Town Center concept. Losing this site would be a detriment. I asked the Senator to intervene and we are going to meet with the engineers for the project in an effort to keep this area commercial. I will continue to keep council and the residents updated on our progress. Happy Holidays! |
