Open Space Update 2010As you know Bucks County voters in 2007 have approved monies for municipal open space grant funds. Bristol township's allocation is proposed $1,077,380 which includes a match of 25% from the Township. As for the local match of 25%, in 2001 the Township applied for and was awarded the match through a PA DCED - Community Revitalization Assistance Program. The Township will be looking at exploring this policy for this round as well too. The first step needed prior to obtaining these funds is that each municipality must have a County approved updated Open Space Plan. The last update to the Township Open Space plan was done in 2000 (see below link). Bucks County has allotted up to $10,000 of the municipal allocation towards the Open Space Plan. This is a reimbursement upon completion and approval by the County of the plan. Council has taken steps to contract with the Bucks County Planning Commission in order to assist with the update. The Township is working towards setting a kick-off date for sometime in late January this year, these meetings will be open to the public and residents are urged to participate in the update of this essential plan. The update should take approximately 6-8 months which is well in advance of the County deadline of December 31, 2010. If you are interesting in participating in the update please take a look at the below information and meetings will be held every 4th Tuesday of the month at 6pm at the Township Building.
