WEED AND SEED

Bristol Township has embarked upon a path to address crime, in particular, drug trafficking in the neighborhoods hardest hit by this social ill.  The Bloomsdale-Fleetwing, Venice-Ashby, Pacific Avenue and Green Lawn Park neighborhoods have banded together as Freedom Neighborhood I to carry out a two-pronged strategy to "weed" out criminals and crime and to "seed" the area with social services, neighborhood restoration and economic revitalization. 

A Bristol Township Weed and Seed Steering Committee has been formed.  It is made up of neighborhood residents, agencies, police and government officials whose combined sole purpose is to bring quality of life back into the area.  The Steering Committee has been charged with carrying out the Weed and Seed Strategy.  This strategy was developed by residents and agencies through numerous general committee work sessions and subcommittee focus groups.  The sessions allowed residents to provide insight into the problems facing the neighborhood and propose workable solutions.  These hardworking, civic-minded individuals have hammered out a plan to provide a safe and secure environment for the neighborhood and its youth.

In the future, other neighborhoods in the Township will be able to benefit from this program.  Come join us as we cross the bridge to a bright future.
