DEPARTMENT of FIRE RESCUE


The Bristol Township Department of Fire Rescue is staffed by a full-time Chief who also serves as the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management Director, 7 Full-time Firefighter/Fire Inspector/EMTs, and 1 Administrative Assistant/Fire Inspector/EMT. These same employees also make up the staff of the Office of the Fire Marshal and the Office of Emergency Management.
 
The Department of Fire Rescue staffs an Engine-Rescue (Engine 225) weekdays from 6:00am to 4:30pm. Each weekday a minimum of (3) Firefighter/Fire Inspector/EMTs staff and utilize Engine 225 as they are out performing fire inspections within a designated core-section of the township. Engine 225 and the Chief respond to all fire/rescue emergencies in the township. In addition to being a fully equipped pumper, Engine 225 is also equipped to respond to medical emergencies and various types of rescues such as; vehicle, industrial, rope/high angle, confined space, structural collapse, and ice rescues. In addition to Engine 225, the department also maintains a 14’ boat which is equipped for various types of water rescues and flood evacuations.
 
The Chief also serves as a liaison between the township administration and the 5 volunteer Fire Companies and 2 Rescue Squads. Each year on a quarterly basis the Chief facilitates a meeting involving the 5 fire companies, 2 rescue squads, and the police department to share information and discuss issues of mutual interest.
